Andrew Mirsky is principal of Mirsky and Company [ www.mirskylegal.com], based in Washington, DC with an office in New York City. Of Counsel attorneys are based in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

Mirsky and Company is a new media and technology law firm. We advise media and technology clients on all legal aspects of business operations, including corporate and finance, intellectual property, contracts, human resources and operations, privacy polices, user agreements, blogs and defamation.

Andrew Mirsky is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Prior to opening his practice four plus years ago, Mr. Mirsky was in-house counsel for National Journal and Atlantic Monthly magazines, responsible for all legal aspects of magazine publication and business operations. Mr. Mirsky is admitted to the District of Columbia, New York and New Jersey bars, and lives in Washington, DC. He plays jazz piano and is currently under intense training for this October’s Seagull Century Bike Ride with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Mr. Mirsky spoke in September 2007 at Folio magazine’s “Folio Show” in New York on privacy issues, and in January 2008 on a DC Bar CLE panel with the founders of Avvo and the “Above The Law” blog discussing defamation and privacy actions involving attorney rating websites and blogs. Mr. Mirsky also spoke in May 2007 at the Magazine Publishers Association “iMag” (Independent Publishers) annual conference in Minneapolis, presenting with Stephanie Sandberg of Hearst on copyright issues for digital publishing and developments under the Digital Millennial Copyright Act and the Communications Decency Act.
